China Southern Signs Strategic Cooperation MOU With China Airlines

In Guangzhou, China Southern Airlines has signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation with Taiwanese air company China Airlines.

According to MOU, the two parties will cooperate on several aspects including codesharing, passenger endorsements under the exceptional flight situations, and storage for interline transfers. They aso agreed on factors surrounding sharing first-class lounges and offering discounted tickets of codeshared flights. In addition, the two airlines plan to provide one-stop services including traffic and tour arrangements, as well as round-trip flights for both Chinese mainland citizens and Taiwanese tourists through travel agencies by taking advantage of their customer source networks.

For the cross-strait weekend charter flights to be started from July 4, China Southern will operate four flights a week departing from Guangzhou and Shanghai, respectively; while China Airlines will provide six weekly flights from Taipei to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou.

Currently, China Airlines has 68 aircraft and a flight network to 68 cities in 25 countries and regions.
