Starwood Kicks Off 2011 Expos In China

Starwood Hotels and Resorts will be running a series of expos in Shanghai, Beijing, and Guangzhou from May 16 to 20, 2011.

Hotels from China and other destinations around the world together with associates from Starwood's sales organization will showcase Starwood's loyalty programs and latest hotel information and brand updates. This year Starwood Expos is slated be one of the largest ever, with 118 hotels represented by over 135 sales associates from 16 countries in Asia Pacific and around the world — as well as the participation of over 1,000 customers and travel trade professionals.

Carol Chung, the regional director of the Starwood sales organization for Greater China commented that Starwood Expos have proved to be very effective with their meetings, corporate and travel trade partners. She added that Starwood will hold similar events in India, Australia, Singapore, Japan and Korea.

The Starwood Expo will start on May 16, 2011 in Shanghai at Sheraton Shanghai Hotels & Residences, Pudong and will continue in Beijing at The St. Regis Beijing on May 18 before concluding at The Westin Guangzhou on May 20.

A key focus of the week is to drive the awareness of the Starwood brands' existing and new hotels in the China market, illustrate the growth of Starwood in the region, as well as updating travel agents, professional conference organizers, destination management companies, corporate clients and meeting planners on the latest updates of loyalty programs including Starwood Preferred Guest, Starwood Preferred Planer and Starchoice.

Hotel representatives in China, Japan, Thailand, Europe and USA, together with Starwood Sales Organization in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou will participate in the Starwood Expos throughout the week.
