Guangdong's Inbound Tourist Numbers Decreased In Peak Season

According to the latest statistics issued by the Guangdong Provincial Tourism Bureau, for the first seven months of 2008, the numbers of inbound tourists in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai decreased — visitors to these cities account for over 70% of Guangdong's travel market.

Hong Kong Visitor Arrivals Decreased By 3% In August

According to the provisional statistics of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, in August 2008, visitor arrivals in Hong Kong reached about 2.67 million, 90,000 less than the same period of last year — a decrease of 3% year-on-year.

Some Beijing Hotel Rates Increase

According to a survey issued by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics, as of August 12, star-grade hotels in Beijing hosted 78,000 domestic and overseas visitors, 4,000 more than the total number on August 8, 2008.
