Home Inns Settles In Lanzhou

Home Inns announced that their two new outlets recently had a soft opening in Lanzhou, with another one outlet opened in last October, which brought the concept of budget hotel to this major city in northwest areas in China.

According to local media, the structure of hotel industry in Lanzhou does not meet the requirements of the market properly: on one hand, high-end hotels albeit with well-appointed facilities are too expensive for ordinary travelers; on the other hand, hotels at lower levels and many small inns or rest houses lack of standardized management and their services or facilities do not always meet customers' requirements. Currently, Lanzhou has only seven hotels of more than four-star standard, few three-star hotels, and almost no budget hotels.

As of December 2007, there were more than 400 budget hotel chains in over 80 flourishing cities and a total of more than 20,000 guestrooms with an average occupancy of more than 90%.

In a timely move three direct-run outlets of Home Inns have successively opened in Lanzhou. These are located on Tianshui Road, Jiuquan Road and Anning West Road, all of them focusing on important business areas with convenient transportation.

Home Inns is expected to have more than 10 outlets in Lanzhou by the end of 2008.
